By climbing upstairs along wooden steps salvaged from one of the original Baťa houses, you will reach the cosy apartment, created from a former barn once used for storing flax. The soul of the space was shaped by its owners, architect Naďa and designer Jan, who infused the careful renovation with their passion. Months of adventurous living in a tent and a caravan preceded the completion of the project, but today they are enjoying the sweet rewards of their courage and hard work.

They have combined old and new in an exceptional way, blending comfort with authenticity. Spruce wood dominates the interior, complemented by birch elements, concrete finishes in the bathroom, and an airy design that equips you with everything you need for a comfortable stay. At the Edge of the World

The quiet country road ends here, turning into an abandoned hiking trail. Only a handful of houses are scattered at generous distances, and you could count the permanent residents on one hand. Still, you won’t miss out, the owners will happily provide tips for cultural and culinary experiences nearby. Upon request, they can also prepare a package of products from local farmers.

Beneficial Birch Sap

Taste the unique birch sap that Jan taps in nearby birch groves each spring, inspired by Nordic traditions. He enhances it with unusual natural ingredients, such as rose, elderflower, frankincense, and grape skins, sourced from the progressive winemaker Milan Nestarec. This fermented 100% sap gently detoxifies the body and supplies minerals and antioxidants, without containing sugars, preservatives, or alcohol. Under the brand Euforia, it is now served only in selected restaurants, and here you have the rare opportunity to experience it at its source.

A Spa for the Soul

This place is not about luxury in the form of a sauna or hot tub, nor does it need to be. The entire apartment and its surroundings feel like one great sanctuary for the nerves. Don’t look for a television; instead, each evening you’ll enjoy nature’s own show as the sunset glows across the horizon beyond the windows. In winter, you can gaze into the flickering fireplace or step outside and cuddle one of the three resident sibling cats.

Creative Energy

This is a place for proper rest, to regain strength, dream, organise your thoughts, create, and search for new visions. In 2025, singer Bára Poláková composed music here for her latest album, and the book Na okraji domov můj was also written within these walls. From the barn, you can run down to the apple orchard beneath the building and set off along countless paths leading in every direction. In autumn, bite into heritage varieties of apples; in winter, taste the sweetest sloes growing along the hedgerows.
