A former monastery that breathes centuries of silence, yet holds one of Northern Italy's boldest design hotels. Monastero Arx Vivendi stands within old cloister walls by Lake Garda, framed by the peaks of Trentino, blending the sacred stillness of a former convent with the clean, almost meditative architecture of NOA* studio. The former monastic cells have become 40 rooms and suites spread across three floors – some with almost five-metre-high ceilings, others opening straight up to the sky through a skylight or hiding a private sauna. The hotel is run by Steffi and Manuel, who discovered unexpected potential in the crumbling monastery and turned it into a place where history is honoured while being lived fully in the present.
