Roubenka Melánka was built between 2014 and 2015 in a huge garden of the Štengl family as an exact replica of the local historical buildings. The construction was carried out under a careful oversight of the expert, Mr. Luděk Štěpán, a prominent historian and founder of the "Veselý Kopec" folk museum.
The house can only be rented as a whole. If you come here with family or group of friends, you will surely notice the special tiles on the top of the shield where “Melánie LP 2014” is written. Melánie is the name of the owner’s daughter and in translation means "beautiful and dark", which really fits the log house.
Where will you sleep
On the ground floor, there is a bathroom with a toilet, a spacious kitchen with a dining area and a unique functional tile oven, which you can climb onto during cold months and warm up – at least that’s how they did it in the old days. Upstairs there are two bedrooms - a blue room with a double and a single bed that can be extended into a double bed and a pink room meant for children. This room is for two persons with the possibility of extra bed. Upstairs there is a bathroom as well.
What can you do there
You can relax in the Finnish sauna or in the steam herbal bath called Fitodar. In front of the cottage is a beautiful massive wood pergola with a huge fireplace and a grill. The owners will be happy to arrange for you a unique tour of the parrot mini zoo, just ask. There are many tourist attractions nearby. When you are in the area, a must is a visit to outdoor folk museum Veselý Kopec. During warm summer days swimming in flooded quarries is very refreshing and just three kilometers from the cottage. In all weather conditions you can hike to the top of Devět skal, which is the highest peak of Žďárské vrchy. If you are not in the mood for cooking, you can go to the neighboring village Svobodné Hamry where you can find one of the oldest wooden pubs.
